hardest dance: Downfall of Paris, 76
easiest dance: I would say slip jig, but I tore ligaments doing it.
longest continuous dance time: Figure choreography.
time taken off dance: Two years combined for injury, about a year and a bit for school when I moved away.
worst injury: Torn ligaments.
preventative measures taken: My physiotherapist is my new bff.
favorite stretch: Full body stretch! So relaxing!
pet peeves: People who think they’re entitled to winning without wanting to put in the effort to get there. People who expect a win to be handed to them.
street shoes: 7.5/8
soft shoes: 4; Rutherford Cavans
hard shoes: 5 Rutherford black soles
hours dancing in class/week: When I’m actually training, between 9 and 12 hours a week.
hours dancing on own/week: Once a day for about an hour, six days a week.
your worst nightmare: Not being able to get over my injuries
what holds you back: My ankles are hyperflexible, so I sprain a lot where most people would just break it. Scar tissue build up like crazy.
what pulls you up: Turn out, straight legs.
current level: Prelim.
mental level: Eh?
goal level: Open Championship.
motivation: I have a dance binder, where I remind myself that my journey’s been different that pretty much anyone out there, and that I can do this.
deterrence: Other than injuries, nothing and no one can get in my way.
